GTA 5 release date for the PS3 and Xbox 360 console is confirmed for September 17. As the date nears, game developer Rockstar continues to tease us with more news and information. Earlier this week, GTA 5 has finally unveiled its first gameplay video. Of course, the video features a lot of car chases. Lots and lots of car chases.

Rockstar confirmed that the latest gameplay video is running on PS3. Boasting rich depth and incredible looking visual detail, the upcoming GTA 5 and its expansive city of Los Santos is pushing the limits of the outgoing PS3 console's abilities farther than any other title.

"Just to clarify for those asking, this particular video was captured with footage from the PS3 version of the game," wrote Rockstar on the publisher's official website.

A title the evolves and reimagines more rapidly than anything else. Los Santos recreates Southern California in all its beauty and decay with beautiful mountains, oceans, beaches, and backwoods, as well as sprawling cities and all its greed and corruption. As per usual, GTA 5 will feature a lot of cops and robber missions as well as a lot of cars. However, the new GTA 5 will also add many twists to keep the game fresh after hundreds of hours of gaming.

For the first time, GTA features three main characters instead of one-- Michael the retired bank robber, Franklin the street hustler, and Trevor the maniac with a short fuse. The dynamics betweent he three characters give the missions a lot more diversify and excitement.

The world of GTA 5 is not only huge, but incredible diverse. Characters can buy clothes, get tattoos, buy cars, modify cars, fly planes, play a round of golf, tennis, base jumping, go scuba diving, and much much more. In fact, GTA allows players to own property and invest in stocks!

All in all, the new game sounds so dangerously addictive that gamers will probably fall off the grid for at least a month after the September 17 GTA 5 release date before emerging for sunlight. In fact, the new game will affect more than just Xbox 360 and PS3 gamers as well.

Evidence has emerged that Rockstar may be planning a PC version after all. A bizarre internal leak has revealed that Rockstar posted a job advert in Leeds asking for a person "to help bring our latest titles to the PC platform." The revelation was leaked on RockstarWatch.

"Rockstar Leeds are currently looking for a talented graphics programmer to help bring our latest titles to the PC platform," read the ad. "Working together with the other Rockstar studios, you will be responsible for maintaining the studio's uncompromising quality bar, delivering the highest quality PC experience possible."

Beyond a PC release, iDigital Times is speculating a release on the next generation consoles PS4 and Xbox One as well. Learn more about the next generation console GTA 5 release here.
