‘Horizon Zero Dawn 2’ Release Date Might Be Late Due To 'Horizon Zero Dawn' PC Launch This Summer?

Guerrilla Games has not yet officially announced that it is working on the “Horizon Zero Dawn 2.” But, fans of the original title are pretty certain that, due to its popularity, it’s only a matter of time before the sequel is made.

In fact, there are those who believe that the title might be out this year. “It will almost certainly be a next-generation title at this point, so don’t expect a release until after the PS5 release in late 2020,” RadioTimes wrote.

But when it does, it won’t likely be available to all consoles. Just like the original game which was exclusive to the PS4 console, the “Horizon Zero Dawn 2” is expected to be a PS5 exclusive title as well.

What to expect in ‘Horizon Zero Dawn 2’

The original game is an action role-playing game set in a post-apocalyptic world mainly inhabited by huge robotic creation. The human population is sparse and is composed only of tribal-like settlements.

While virtually nothing is known about the “Horizon Zero Dawn 2,” the sequel will likely continue where the first game’s narrative left off. At the end of the original game, the antagonist rogue AI Hades has been captured by Sylens, considered to be allies of the humans.

In the previous game, players have been introduced to different environments like the frozen tundra in the game’s DLC. It’s highly likely that the sequel might introduce new environments to explore as well as new tribes to interact with. In addition, there will likely be more variants to the machine-like creatures found in the first game.

‘Horizon Zero Dawn’ for PC

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that the “Horizon Zero Dawn” will be coming to PC. The game will arrive in the PC by the summer of 2020, according to Polygon.

“I can confirm that Horizon Zero Dawn is coming to PC this summer,” Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios head Hermen Hulst announced in a blog post. “There will be more information coming from Guerrilla, from the new studio directors [Michiel van der Leeuw, JB van Beek, and Angie Smets] pretty soon.”

This has spawned speculations that the release of the “Horizon Zero Dawn 2” might have been delayed due to the planned PC launch of the original title. Until then, stay tuned for more updates about the upcoming title.
