Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif slammed the U.S for killing top Iranian general Qassem Soleimani and hinted at how the country will have to bear the consequences of its rogue adventurism, rather dearly. “Severe attack” is on the cards by the Iranian government as they

Zarif’s tweet came soon after the notorious commander’s death was pronounced. Zarid condemned the act, and termed the move “extremely dangerous” and a “foolish escalation”. The death of Soleimani, a top general of the infamous Islamic Revolutionary Guard Cops Quds Force evoked mammoth unrest and anger among the Iranian government.

“We will take vigorous revenge on America,” said senior IRGC official and Iranian politician Mohsen Rezaee.

The deadly warnings in the form of sublime yet vicious threats were counter-attacked by the Department of Défense, US military, on Twitter. The US Military maintained that they had acted upon President Donald Trump’s orders and the move was a well-thought off, decisive defensive action to “protect the US personnel abroad by killing Soleimani.”

The Pentagon has maintained that Soleimani played a key role in the deaths of several US service members over the years. The Pentagon implied that the top general was additional attacks which were death threats to the people of the nation.

The strike also claimed the life of Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, deputy commander of Iran-backed militias in Iraq known as the Popular Mobilization Forces, or PMF, claim Iraqi officials. The PMF media arm stated that the two were killed in an American airstrike that “targeted their vehicle on their way to the airport.

While the move comes as a shocker, the US perceives the strike as an instrument that aims at deterring future Iranian attack plans. Despite the outbursts on Twitter, an official response from Iran is yet to be disclosed. As per a media outlet, the situation is tense in Iran as the state has cut off all broadcasts and have replaced them with pictures of Qassem Soleimani accompanied by prayers.

The state tv portrays the demise as the commander being “martyred in an attack by U.S helicopters without offering many contexts. Recent reports also suggest that Iran’s National Security Council is holding an emergency meeting as the IRGC makes funeral arrangements. Currently, Iranian proxy forces are on high alert.
