Once again, Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence is on a roll. The 25-year-old is nominated for another Oscar for her performance in the David O. Russell film “Joy,” and has already landed her next, juicy role. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lawrence is set to play Fidel Castro’s longtime lover Marita Lorenz. The film, titled “Marita” is written by “American Hustle” co-writer Eric Warren Singer, and will focus on the German woman’s life and how she met the Cuban official at the young age of 19.

The story will follow Lorenz’s journey through falling for Castro, living with him, getting pregnant, having an abortion and then becoming a CIA agent to plot his assassination as part of anti communist movement in the United States. Reportedly, the mission failed since Lorenz warned the Cuban leader about the killing instead of carrying it through with poisoned pills. The Castro affair was seemingly not Lorenz’s only involvement with politicians as she claimed she had an affair with Venezuelan dictator Marcos Pérez Jiménez and claimed that she was part of the John F. Kennedy assassination.

The project (which was picked up by Sony Pictures) has been in development stages for a while, as Warren Singer says it took him a while before bringing the project to Lawrence.
