Latina performer Jennifer Lopez has denied rumors that she's upset with Ben Affleck over a recent interview revealing how his alcohol addiction worsened during his 13-year marriage with ex-flame Jennifer Garner.

On Dec. 18, the singer would slam these reports, saying the rumors do not reflect what she feels, People reported.

“I couldn't have more respect for Ben as a father, a co-parent, and a person," she said.

Lopez, 52, was engaged to Affleck, 49, in 2002 until they called off the wedding in 2004. Nearly 20 years later, Bennifer would reunite in April 2021 and have appeared to be enjoying their rekindled flame ever since.

During a recent episode of "The Howard Stern Show," Affleck, who was married to actor Jennifer Garner from 2005 to 2018, revealed he would most probably be still drowning himself in alcohol and misery if he stayed with the "Yes Day" actress, according to CNN.

“It's part of why I started drinking…because I was trapped. I was like, ‘I can't leave because of my kids, but I'm not happy, what do I do?’ And what I did was drink a bottle of Scotch and fall asleep on the couch, which turned out not to be the solution," he said at the time.

“The truth was, we took our time, we made the decision. We grew apart. We had a marriage that didn't work,” Affleck continued. “This happens.”

Shortly after the quotes went viral, a source claimed that Lopez was “pissed” over the situation because she is being dragged into the issue since she's currently dating him. The insider further noted JLo has met Garner as Ben and Jen attempt to blend their families soon.

During an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on Dec. 15, Affleck addressed his controversial Howard Stern interview, blasting the media "for saying the exact opposite of what I said." Since his "The Howard Stern Show" interview, the press began publishing stories that suggest "The Way Back" actor is blaming his ex-wife over the fallout of their marriage and his alcohol problems.

"That's not true. I don't believe that. It's the exact opposite of who I am, what I believe and I would never want my kids to think I would ever say a bad word about their mom...it hurts my feelings," Affleck told Kimmel, per Glamour. "I had gone on and said how much we respect each other and cared about each other and cared about our kids and put them first and went through our stuff."
