Last Thursday on September 3, certain Mexican publications reported that witnesses identifiedEl Chapo’ at a car accident scene in Macuspana, Tabasco. The person in question was injured after a van crashed into a car in one of the town’s main streets and was later transported to the hospital. Eyewitnesses confirmed the fugitive was there and as federal troops rushed to the Hospital Regional de Macuspana, sources confirmed the patient was gone. The thing is, the druglord’s son, Alfredo Guzmán Salazár, 29, tweeted he was ‘chilling’ with his Dad, and forgot to turn off the location function, which indicated they were in Costa Rica.

Guzmán tweeted on August 31 and would have presumably deleted the tweet upon getting immense attention immediately after, but instead left the message which includes a photo covered in emojis, which hide the faces of the person presumed to be ‘El Chapo.’ Local authorities in Costa Rica are now investigating the drug lord’s whereabouts after the picture in a restaurant surfaced.

The Mexican government is offering a $3.5MM reward to whomever helps or provides asserted information to capture Guzmán, except ‘El Chapo’ himself has already reportedly paid over $50MM in bribes to secure his freedom.
