The ultimate halo LaFerrari is about to have two distinct variants that push the hypercar envelope even further. According to WorldCarFans, the LaFerrari will be joined by the hardcore race-track focused LaFerrari XX as well as an exciting LaFerrari Spider open top.

Details surrounding the LaFerrari Spider is limited, but the drop top hybrid supercar will be extremely exclusive and limited to only the most valuable of Ferrari clientele. According to speculators, the LaFerrari Spider is expected to carry an inflated price tag of $2.8 million, effectively double the cost to purchase a standard LaFerrari.

Rumors suggest that approximately 50 LaFerrari Spiders will join the stable. Ferrari insists that only 499 examples of the LaFerrari will be built and Ferrari's sporting director Antonello Coletta confirmed that a handful from the lot will be made to LaFerrari XX spec. In fact, LaFerrari XX prototypes have already been sighted testing at the Nurburgring. Insiders claim that the Ferrari XX will produce more than 1050 horsepower, just a modust 10 percent bump over the standard model. Expect the Ferrari XX to rocket from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 3 seconds and 0-300 km/h (186.41 mph) in 15 seconds before reaching a top speed exceeding 220 mph.

The latest LaFerrari Spider and LaFerrari XX news comes just days after a special McLaren P1 GTR track version is confirmed. According to reorts, the new McLaren P1 GTR will boast a power output potentially exceeding 1000 horsepower, and will feature "even greater levels of performance, grip, aerodynamics and downforce than the standard car.
