Scores of celebs have been taking to their social media handles, showing their support to the ongoing Black Lives Matter Movement in the light of George Floyd’s death at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer and the subsequent protests currently raging across the US. But when former “Glee” star, Lea Michele did the same, she was called out by her former black castmates for being a bully to them and a racist during the show.

As soon as Lea Michele dropped the tweet supporting George Floyd with “#BlackLivesMatter,” her former Glee co-star Samantha Marie Ware reminded her of the time during the FOX musical series when Michele made her life “a living hell”. She went as far as to threaten that she would defecate in Ware’s wig- “AMONGST OTHER TRAUMATIC MICROAGRESSIONS THAT MADE ME QUESTION A CAREER IN HOLLYWOOD”, Ware wrote.

Soon many other former Glee co-stars came out with their experiences of Michele’s racist behavior on set like Daybreak star Jeanté Godlock shared how Michele referred to background actors as “cockroaches” on set.

Actor and musician Dabier Snell shared also his experience of working with Michele who “wouldn’t let me sit at the table with the other cast members” she believed that Snell didn’t “belong there”.

Among others who accused Michele of being a racist was Drag Race alum William Belli who recounted the “Glee” star’s “subhuman” treatment that made him leave the set.

Yvette Nicole Brown, Michele’s co-star from the short-lived ABC series The Mayor, also supported the claims and seconded Ware’s tweet, saying that she “felt every one of those capital letters.”

Following the multiple racism accusations, HelloFresh, the meal-kit company Lea Michele was endorsing, ended their partnership with the former “Glee” actress, adding that they are “disappointed and disheartened” by the claims against her.

“HelloFresh does not condone racism nor discrimination of any kind. We are disheartened and disappointed to learn of the recent claims concerning Lea Michele,” the company tweeted. “We take this very seriously, and have terminated our partnership with Lea Michele, effective immediately.”

Lea Michele or her rep is yet to respond to the mounting accusations and the news of HelloFresh firing her.
