Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene rejected that her recent criticism of President Donald Trump has to do with him preventing her from running for senator or governor in Georgia.
In a social media publication referring to an interview with CNN's Dana Bash said the claim is "absolutely not true" and that she "never had a "conversation with President Trump about running for Senate or governor."
"Those decisions were completely my own. And after the past two months of the government shutdown, Americans saw exactly why I would never want to be in the Senate!! I also haven't called him. White House logs would prove that. The only messages I posted were the ones I actually sent, asking him to get involved because the American people want the Epstein files released. That's it," she added in the post.
The President said I criticized him because he pushed me not to run for Senate or governor in Georgia. That is absolutely not true.

The claim about Greene criticizing Trump over botched electoral had already been made by Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who said earlier in November that Greene is on a "revenge tour."
"People are like 'oh my god, she's saying all these things, what's gotten into her lately.' She's bucking against Trump, the administration. Marjorie Taylor Greene wanted to run for the Senate in Georgia. She wanted to be the Republican nominee. She was gearing up for that statewide race and Trump told her no. Trump said no. And the White House and Trumpland shut down Marjorie Taylor Greene's personal ambitions to run for Senate and she has been on a revenge tour ever since," Ocasio-Cortez said.
Greene replied to the lawmaker saying "sounds like she's best friends with Laura Loomer too, because that's the same thing Laura Loomer said," in reference to the far-right influencer.
"But it's not true. I put out a lengthy post back this summer about why I didn't want to run for Senate. And I see the Senate is basically where all good things go to die. Go to die. I mean, look at the Senate right now, because of the Senate, the gridlock in the Senate, where no one can get anything accomplished, the government is shut down. And I'm a very serious person, I don't want to go serve somewhere where all of my good ideas and bills I want to work on get completely stopped in a system that I think is utter failure," Greene added.
Greene has broken with Trump over the past weeks, fiercely criticizing Republicans during the government shutdown and the party's electoral defeats earlier this month. Trump has lashed back, removing his support for her and saying he would back a primary challenger.
"Lightweight Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Brown (Green grass turns Brown when it begins to ROT!), betrayed the entire Republican Party when she turned Left," Trump said on Saturday.
