The producers of NBC’s variety sketch show “Saturday Night Live,” Broadway Video, have created a digital platform called "Más Mejor" which will feature Latino comedians. The project will create and provide short-form sketch comedy content, in both English and Spanish, and will be targeted towards multicultural millenials. Its distribution will be taken care of by Batanga Media and NBC Telemundo media groups, as well as across YouTube, top Hispanic sites and social media.

EVP of Digital Media & Emerging Business, NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, Peter Blacker, says Hipanic comedy is an “underserved area” so they’ve been working hard on the initiative for more than a year. “We waited a long time to do this, so we wanted to do it right,” said Blacker. He also explained there’s a lot of opportunity in the genre since big Hispanic media companies have not invested or focused on it. “It’s a nuanced genre that requires a deep understanding of your audience,” he said. “Being funny is hard if you don’t know who you are trying to be funny for.”

Some of their initial programing includes actors such as Fred Armisen, Horatio Sanz, Oscar Nuñez, David Lopez and Grace Parra with a number of recurring characters and sketches.
