Meghan Markle made her first public appearance at the opening ceremony of the One Young World Summit after her explosive ITV Documentary, where she shared that she had been having a hard time dealing with all the pressures of royal life.

The event was held at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The new mum was all smiles and looked stunning in her purple dress. But, was there a hidden message that she was trying to send to the Queen by wearing purple?

Let’s take a quick recap. The ITV Documentary titled Meghan & Harry: An African Journey gave us a sneak peek of what was going through the minds of Harry and Meghan. At one point, Markle admitted that she was naïve about the severe scrutiny she would be subjected to stepping into the royal life. Also, Harry revealed that he feared for his wife and wanted to shield her from the same fate as Princess Diana.

Although the documentary hinted that the couple might opt out of the royal life, Markle made it clear with her purple dress that the couple was here to stay.

What Was The Hidden Message Meghan’s Purple Dress Sent The Queen?

The color purple has been linked to the royal family for a long time now. The significance of this exclusive color comes from the cost of the dye that was used to produce it. The price was so high that only rulers could afford this color and therefore, it became linked to wealth and power.

Also, it is believed that this regal color was immensely special to Queen Elizabeth I, and she banned anyone other than the royal family from donning it. So, by wearing the regal color purple, Markle made it clear that she wasn’t going anywhere.

The Duchess of Sussex looked spectacular in her purple dress and looked radiant on stage during the event. It looked like she was in great spirits despite the aftershocks of the ITV documentary.
