As Memorial Day approaches the weather does not seem to be getting any nicer. I am still hoping for a glorious sunny day so I can celebrate the right way with a BBQ but if it doesn't happen, one must always have a backup plan! So if the weather is still rainy and cold by Memorial Day head to the movies and check out some of the awesome flicks that are opening!

"Star Trek: Into Darkness"

If you are in the mood for some sci-fi and Chris Pine, then you are in luck! J.J Abrams highly anticipated sequel has been released and the entire Star Trek crew returns to battle a mysterious villain, John Harrison. Check out "Star Trek: Into Darkness" in IMAX and you will feel like you are a part of the movie!

"Fast & Furious 6"

I know what you are thinking, another "Fast & Furious"? I am such a diehard fan to this series, except that "Tokyo Drift" one, that movie was weird. The whole team returns to work with Diplomatic Security Service agent Hobbs in exchange for their identities and records to be cleared. The action in this movie borders on unbelievable, but if you can buy into the action, fun and fast driving it is sure to be a thrill ride!

"Iron Man 3"

Another favorite series of mine is "Iron Man", I don't know if it is Robert Downey Jr.'s wit, charm or good looks that make me a fan but whatever it is I loved this film! The third installment is such a better revamp from the pretty drab second movie. We return to a distraught Tony Stark who is as arrogant as he is hilarious, and the action is incredible. In an odd turn, the major fight scene includes a crazed Gwyneth Platrow in a bra, so there's that. But really this is must see flick for anyone who loves, action, special effects or superheroes, it has plenty of all 3!

"The Great Gatsby"

I have to admit something, I haven't seen it yet, but I want to this weekend and that is why it is going on the guide! While I have heard that it is a laborious movie with a whole lot of color, that is honestly what I expected from director Baz Luhrmann, so I will have to go and judge for myself. I am a big fan of Fitzgerald, and a bigger fan of his iconic character, Mr. Jay Gatsby. Therefore I will most certainly being seeing Gatsby this weekend; I might even throw on some pearls!

While these movies are already out in theaters they are still excellent choices to watch this weekend! Now for movies that premeire this Memorial Day Weekend!

Epic

The animated film hits theaters this weekend and the #D movie is sure to be family friendly adventure! The film stars mega-celebrities including Beyoncé, Josh Hutcherson, Colin Farrell, Christoph Waltz and Amanda Seyfried. It tells the story of a teenage girls transported to the secret fantastical world that keeps nature alive. The creatures who inhibit our world are facing evil forces and must battle to save their world!

The Hangover: Part III

This is the final installment to the epic drunken adventures of the wolf pack. And while the second Hangover was sort of a flop, I am expecting good things from this power house comedy team. While I know that there will be drinking, strippers, car crashes, and someone will inevitably get lost, I am still looking forward to some classic comedic surprises and of course Zach Galifianakis’ character of Alan.

Before Midnight

This awarding-winning film looks so interesting. I am honestly so intrigued to see this film because I am not sure what to expect yet. It is the third installment to Before Sunrise, and Before Sunset. The couple in the movie have been living in Paris and are parents to twin girls, but while most would assume they are entering a honey-moon period in their relationship things are getting harder. The two seem to be rowing apart for reason they can’t figure out. I’m sure I’ll cry, and drive home dreaming of a romantic life living in a Paris with my imaginary husband.
