MotoGP racer Miguel Oliveira has two reasons to celebrate -- his recent wedding to his stepsister Andreia Pimenta, and their baby, who is expected to arrive a few months later.

The 26-year-old Portuguese rider shared the happy news of his July wedding, which he described as "the most important curve of our lives," on Instagram where he posted romantic photos of the couple, and wrote, "We sealed our love through marriage and we want to share it with you."

He also expressed how happy and lucky he felt to share his life with his wife who is his other half. The star had asked her to marry him last year, but their wedding was initially postponed due to work commitments, reported News.com.au.

Last week, Oliveira surprised his Instagram followers after he announced that the newlyweds were expecting their first child together. Sharing a photo of him with Pimenta and her baby bump along with an ultrasound, he wrote that their lives would continue with a special company. "A job that will last the rest of our journey. Anxious to meet you my love."

Many showered him with congratulatory messages, with the official MotoGP page commenting that they were very happy for him, and couldn't wait to have a "new member in the paddock."

According to Daily Star, Oliveira kept his relationship with the daughter of his father's second wife, a secret for 11 years, and opened up on their romance during an interview with Portuguese TV. Last year he said that they formed a great friendship before falling in love with each other, and that they grew up together. Then at some point, the two realized that their relationship was more than a friendship, and that it is a "very strong love."

His father was also thrilled about their marriage.

On the work front, Oliveira created history in 2020 by becoming the first Portuguese rider to emerge victorious in the elite division of the sport.

Pimenta has been supportive of his profession. On Instagram, she often shares posts of her husband at work.

Last November, she expressed how proud she was of him, and called him an "extraordinary human being."
