An upcoming royal documentary is all set to reveal some interesting stories from inside the palace. Details of one of these stories has surfaced online, and it reveals that the Queen served tea to a builder when he was doing a job inside the Buckingham Palace.

The new documentary is aptly titled “Secrets of the Royal Palaces.” Kevin Andrews was the one who told the story about the Queen serving tea, as he knew the builder in question.

According to the story, the builder was busy dismantling a desk at the Buckingham Palace when he heard a woman offer him some tea, Express reported. The man did not look up to see who it was, and he simply asked for a “builder’s tea” with “two sugars.”

The craftsman also told the person who offered him tea to not bother with any of the “nonsense” like “fine china and all that saucer stuff.” He just wanted the tea in a mug.

The Queen apparently got the tea as per the man’s request and told him that she had put it on the table nearby. When he looked up to see who was giving him the tea, he saw the Queen leave the room.

Tea is the Queen’s favorite drink. She prefers Assam tea or Earl Grey. The documentary also busts the myth that the royals use their pinky while drinking.

Another interesting story that the documentary reveals is that the Queen’s official London residence had a bar at one time. They had to shut that down after the staff there got too drunk.

Meanwhile, the Queen has been in the news for another heart-warming reason. A 5-year-old school girl from Australia misplaced her toy monkey during her summer trip to Buckingham Palace, People reported. The staff of the school wrote to the Queen, and the employees of the palace found the toy and returned it to its rightful owner.
