With the 2014 NFL Draft just two days away, numerous draft aficionados have begun the task of scripting together multiple mock drafts in order to provide the football world with possible scenarios that could take place once the first round opens from Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Thursday, May 8. Popular college talents including quarterback Johnny Manziel, surreal athlete and defensive end Jadeveon Clowney and former Oklahoma State cornerback Justin Gilbert are among those receiving headlines leading up to the first round but with a deep draft pool consisting of the top players from the world of college football, the aforementioned trio will certainly receive loads of competition for high draft honors.

In the first part of our mock draft -- which projected picks 1 through 16 -- former South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney went No. 1 overall to the Houston Texans while Clemson wideout Sammy Watkins, former Buffalo outside linebacker Khalil Mack, Johnny Manziel and Auburn offensive tackle Greg Robinson rounded out the top 5. Quarterback talents in Fresno State star Derek Carr and UCF signal-caller Blake Bortles -- who are expected to go in the first round -- went No. 6 and 7 in our mock draft to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Minnesota Vikings respectively.

The mid to later portion of this year’s NFL Draft should see the selection of some of the top offensive lineman, wide receivers and defensive back talent in the entire field as well. Superstar college wideouts in Oregon State star Brandin Cooks, former USC talent Marqise Lee and LSU’s Odell Beckham Jr. could all go in the opening round while O-Line pieces including Notre Dame’s Zack Martin and UCLA guard Xavier Su’a-Filo are also expected to become first round selections. Thanks to the emergence of Virginia Tech cornerback Kyle Fuller, Louisville safety Calvin Pryor, Northern Illinois safety Jimmie Ward and Ohio State cornerback Bradley Roby, the opening round of the draft will once again remain consistent in the secondary.
