At the recent EA Sports Showcase at New York City's Motivo, Latin Times had the opportunity to speak with 'NHL 14' Producer Sean Ramjagsingh about some of the newest innovations and additions gamers will see when they drop the puck on their gaming systems.
One of the top selling points for this year's game will be the installment of 'NHL '94' mode, which allows users to travel back in time to experience one of the most popular games in EA's NHL franchise. With tremendous freedom available in '94 mode, Sean Ramjagsingh said celebrating the 20th anniversary of the game was a no brainer.
"We thought about celebrating 'NHL 94' for the 20th anniversary while we were getting ready to launch NHL 13," he said to Latin Times. "You never really know what older games still pique the interest of gamers but the EA team was certain that including the 94 mode would certainly add to a tremendous game."

In '94 mode, gamers will enjoy a trip to yesteryear where the ice is blue, illegal checking is allowed and no penalties are called. Never really fearing that the Anniversary Mode would become a failure, Ramjagsingh said the reception for the latest addition has been top notch.
"Feedback for 'NHL '94' mode has been tremendous," he said. "Games are so realistic nowadays that you don't really ever get the chance to play a sports game without the inclusion of penalties. The old game didn't have penalties and it didn't take offside violations into account so in order to create a true tribute, we wanted the game to play the same way it did 20 years ago."

Those looking forward to experiencing NHL 14 in its original design will also enjoy the ability to play with friends while noticing the real-life intricacies NHL players' deal with on a game-by-game basis.
"NHL 14's GM Connected is a great feature that will allow each gamer to play with friends," Ramjagsingh told Latin Times. "With realistic pre and postgame interviews and everyday situations that players deal with included in the new game, each person that plays will feel like they're running a team."
NHL Collision Physics will also allow players to deliver severe and realistic hits on the opponent. Using the same technology as FIFA's Player Impact Engine, the real-life graphics and gameplay 'NHL 14' brings to the table may be unrivaled.
'NHL 14' is set to release on September 10th in North America and Worldwide on September 13th.
