With less than a month to go before the “Nioh 2” release date arrives, fans of the original game are excited to see just what the prequel has to offer. Thankfully, Team Ninja is letting fans test out some of its features via the “Nioh 2” demo.

“Nioh 2” Demo Starts Feb. 28

Team Ninja is letting gamers get a taste of what “Nioh 2” has to offer via its demo version. The demo will start on February 28 and lasts for three days until March 1.

A PS4 console is needed to play the “Nioh 2 “ demo where players can try out three available missions. The good news is that a PlayStation Plus membership is not required to access the game during the demo period.

Players can also try out the game’s expanded character creator feature. Characters created in the demo will be carried over to the actual game when it launches. However, progress made in the demo won’t be carried over.

“Nioh 2” Character Customization

One of the improvements introduced in “Nioh 2” is that players can pick the gender of their samurai character, unlike the default Irish samurai named William in the original game. This time, the upcoming title will even allow players to customize the look of their characters. As part-human, part-yokai, the character can also call forth various yokai powers while fighting.

“Nioh 2” Gameplay

There are plenty of things to do in the game that should keep players occupied for hours. For example, one can hunt down other yokai to obtain their Soul Cores. Players who can manage to bring a Core back to a shrine before dying will have access to the yokai’s power.

There are also side missions to complete. Players can also keep themselves busy searching for new gear or mastering a new combat style. With the introduction of new powers, combat in “Nioh 2” is expected to be a bit different compared to the original game.

“Nioh 2” Pre-orders

Players can also pre-order the game. To further sweeten the deal, Team Ninja is giving away the First Samurai armor set for those who purchase the game before March 27.

For those who pre-order the standard edition of the game, they will get the Demon Horde armor set, the Sudama Netsuke charm, a PS4 theme, and a PS4 avatar. Players will get all of those by pre-ordering the Digital Deluxe Edition in addition to the Nioh 2 Season Pass, Demon Horde weapons, Kodama Netsuke charm, a different PS4 theme, and avatar.

Meanwhile, players will get all of those previously mentioned items when they pre-order the Special Edition along with some extras. A Nioh 2 steelbook and Nioh 2 artbook comes with the special edition.

“Nioh 2” Release Date

“Nioh 2” will arrive at the PS4 console on March 13, 2020. A PC version might be available within the year.
