Premios TV y Novelas 2014 Nominees
The nominees for Mexico's biggest telenovela award show are out and it will be five soaps vying for the top prize. Check out the complete list here! Televisa

The nominees for Premios TVyNovelas 2014 were published today by the magazine that organizes this massive event in honor of Televisa's dramatic productions. With the weekly publication under new leadership, the buzz around the awards has been scarce unlike other years. This is probably a good thing as in recent times and with the rise of social networks, the ceremony has been plagued by negativity accusing the magazine of meddling with results and favoring certain productions and talent over others. To make the system more legitimate and transparent a new voting system was introduced during last years gala. A group of experts now choose the winners during the live event to appease viewers that grew weary of how they picked the victors.

Telenovelas that make the cut are those that have completely finished airing in Mexico before the event. This year five productions made the list and will compete for the top prize: "Amores Verdaderos," "Mentir Para Vivir," "Corazón Indomable," "Porque El Amor Manda" and "De Que Te Quiero, Te Quiero." For leading actress Ana Brenda Contreras, Mayrin Villanueva, Erika Buenfil and Blanca Soto will duke it out for the accolade while their male counterparts, Sebastián Rulli, Juan Diego Covarrubias, David Zepeda and Daniel Arenas, will do the same. Other categories to be awarded include Best Legendary Actor and Actress, Best Young Actor and Actress and Best Villain. A trophy for the best Multiplatform telenovela will also be handed out to the production that used social media and that second screen to their advantage and provided extra content for followers to engage.

Premios TVyNovelas 2014 will air on Sunday, March 23 in México. No word if Univision will air the ceremony the same day in the States as it did last year. Check out the partial list of nominees down below and sound-off with your thoughts!
