A group of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena workers (Chitrapat Sena) on Thursday beat up some men who allegedly asked a local actress to compromise if she wanted to act in a film.

The actress shared her experience with MNS (film wing) president Padmanabh Rane. She told Rane that a casting director told her that she would get the work if she would please the producer, reported Times Now News.

After hearing her side of the story, Rane went with the actress to a farmhouse where she was allegedly asked to come. They found bottles of liquor and a gun there. Soon, some MNS workers reached the spot and then beat up the four men. The culprits were later taken to the police.

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena's Chitrapat Karmachari Sena president Ameya Khopkar also took to Facebook to share details of the incident. Khopkar said that the four culprits were identified as Girijesh Yadav, Biralal Yadav, Rahul Yadav and Kanchan Yadav.

MNS claimed that the men from Uttar Pradesh tried to take advantage of the actress, according to local media outlet Lokmat. Khopkar said that currently, there are several outside goons in the film industry, and that women in Maharashtra have to face the 'casting couch' from these goons. He finds this "very unfortunate."

Calling himself and his party workers "Maharashtra soldiers trained under Raj Thackeray," Khopkar said that they will not tolerate such goons. He shared that even though he and his party workers had beaten "these outsiders" and handed them over to the police, there are many others. He requested struggling artists not to fall prey to their lure. Khopkar even told them to contact Maharashtra Navnirman Chitrapat Karmachari Sena if they needed any help. He assured them that "Maharashtra soldiers" would protect them.

He promised "my sisters" who are trying to build a career in the entertainment field that they will not allow a similar incident happen to them.

Politician Amit Thackeray also tweeted about the incident. The MNS wants police to take strict action against the accused.

Meanwhile, many Twitter users have praised the political party for helping the woman. One of them simply said, "good." Another wrote that those men deserved to be beaten up.
