Many reports surfaced the web Sunday and Monday following Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke's scandalous performance at the MTV Video Music Awards 2013, that took place at Brooklyn's Barclays Center, bringing the award show back to New York. Cyrus and Thicke's rendition of "Blurred Lines" was so shocking, that people didn't realize rapper 2 Chainz and Kendrick Lamar followed right after to complete the musical number.

Some of those reports said that Thicke's wife, Paula Patton was furious with Miley for groping her husband, and others went on to say she even threw a fit backstage, threatening Cyrus, and that's why the singer left the award show early. However, TMZ reported that those claims are false, and sources close to Patton said she was cool with it.

Paula allegedly knew about the sexual innuendos of the performance and she was totally aware it wasn't going to be G-Rated because there were "tons of rehearsals" before the show, so there were no surprises during her husband and Miley's act. Still, there was someone close to Thicke that wasn't very pleased with the whole thing, his mother.

Gloria Loring wasn't too thrilled about her son partnering up with Cyrus. She sat down with OMG! Yahoo! to watch the awards show and discuss Cyrus' latex-clad dancing with her son. "I just keep thinking of her mother and father watching this. Oh, Lord, have mercy. I was not expecting her to be putting her butt that close to my son. The problem is now I can never 'unsee' it," she said. "Him? Loved it. I love that suit, the black and white suit. I don't understand what Miley Cyrus is trying to do. I just don't understand. I think she's misbegotten in this attempt of hers. And I think it was not beneficial."

And it seems that Gloria's son agrees, since a source close to him told Us Weekly that he wasn't very happy with the outcome. "Robin thought it would be fun to include Miley, but he didn't realize how much she would overshadow him. This was his big night and big performance," the source said. "I don't think he would have done it knowing what it ended up like."

At least we all can be sure of one thing: We'll never have the explosive Cyrus-Thicke combination on stage ever again. Let's all praise the Lord.
