Selena Gomez Opens Up About Her Deepest Fear Of Being 'Forever Alone'

Selena Gomez is slaying her twenties and is focused on becoming the best version of herself. But, the 27-year-old “Rare” singer isn’t always fearless and fabulous and she’s not shying away from accepting that.

Gomez recently revealed that there are days when she’s up in the morning, wondering if she’s always “forever alone.” The singer, who’s had a tumultuous on and off relationship with Justin Bieber, was rather candid during a recent interview with “Genius.”

Aside from opening up about her deepest fears— being lonely, the singer also revealed that she was a subjected to emotional abuse in one of her previous relationships (Um, she was talking about her time with Bieber, BTW).

“In certain relationships, I’ve heard and I’ve experienced and what not that there’s this thing, right? Actually I think men and women do it, especially teenagers and young people in love, is there’s this satisfaction out of hurting someone because you know that they care,” said Selena said. “Purposefully putting someone down because you want to keep them, you know, at a level. I’ve had someone actually say that to me before,” she added.

Gomez is currently single, and she’s really looking forward to a love that lasts. She did date The Weeknd and Zedd before the official split from Bieber and was linked to Niall Horan before the both of them quashed the rumors. Horan and Gomez have time and again cleared the air, and are currently “just friends.”

But, despite occasional moments of weakness, Gomez is not willing to settle. Insiders believe that she’s still nursing a broken heart, so she’s being extra cautious. Her relationship with Bieber ended on a rather strange note, as the “Yummy” singer got engaged to Hailey Baldwin just a few months after his final split from Gomez.

Things escalated a little too fast between Bieber and Baldwin, so much so, fans thought of it as a mere rebound. But, Bieber surprised everyone when he tied the knot with Baldwin in September 2018 and topped it off with another luxe ceremony in October, the next year.

It is believed that Bieber was regretful about how he treated Gomez during their relationship and admitted to being “reckless.” But, it was already too late.
