Shakira not only congratulated her friend Mark Zuckerberg for Max’s arrival but she also praised and happily supported his new charitable endeavor of donating 99 percent of his Facebook stock over the course of his life, a gift currently worth $45 billion that will change the world for a better place. "From parents to parents, our most heartfelt congratulations on welcoming Max to the world. She is an immensely fortunate baby to have parents with such dedication and integrity. Your commitment to making the world a better place than you found it, and to empowering everyone to help make that a reality through all the tools you’ve listed here, education for all being one of them, show that success, when shared, has a multiplier effect."

The Colombian singer added on her post,"It’s not about leaving anyone behind. It’s about helping pull everyone, and humanity in general, forward. thanks to your generosity, many will have the keys to unlock all of that untapped potential that has been there all along, waiting to be discovered. Looking forward to meeting the newest Chan Zuckerberg. With love, Shakira and Gerard Piqué."

The Facebook founder responded to the UN Goodwill Ambassador by saying, "thanks Shakira and Geri! Your work with the United Nations has been an inspiration and we've enjoyed discussing each of our education projects together over the years. We look forward to you guys meeting Max soon!"

Watch Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan in this video video talking about why they want to contribute with this powerful donation.

A few weeks before Max's birth, Priscilla and I took a morning to reflect and record our hopes for her and all children of her generation. It will be deeply meaningful to show this to her one day. I'll share more soon.
