The protagonists of Fox's new series "Sleepy Hollow", Ichabod Crane and Lt. Abbie Mills, won't be returning to the fold for Episode 6 of Season for another three weeks, as the show goes on break until Nov. 4. The show has been wildly successful, with its premiere episode pulling in a remarkable 10.1 million viewers and a 3.5 rating, which made it the number one primetime drama on that night among adults aged 18-49. It's done so well that only three episodes into its debut season, Fox announced that it would renew it for a 13-episode second season. Scroll down to see a clip from its next episode, entitled "Join, Or Die".
The official synopsis of the episode has yet to be released by Fox. So far the show has had success with its mash-up of two classic pieces of short fiction from the 19th century author Washington Irving. In the show, Ichabod Crane, an American soldier in the Revolutionary War, goes to sleep in a New England cave just after engaging in battle and awakes some two hundred and fifty years later to find that the world is on the brink of destruction. He also finds that he might be humanity's last hope, as signs mount that the threat that faces the sleepy New England town might be the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. He teams up with police officer Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) to unravel a mystery that dates all the way back to the founding fathers.
Hypable reports that "Sleepy Hollow" might be adding a new character later on this season: Amanda Stenberg, who you might remember for her role in "The Hunger Games", will be playing Macey, the teenage daughter of Captain Frank Irving, in an episode to air November 25. Her character will express her discontent with the lack of connection with her father ever since he took the job of police captain in Sleepy Hollow. She is also the second familiar face to be added to the cast of "Sleepy Hollow" since the premiere season began on September 16: John Noble will also be joining the show after the three-week break ends. Henry Parrish will come into play as well as the Knights Templar, who we've already met as the "good guys". "Join, Or Die" airs on Nov.4 on Fox at 9 pm. Not going to be able to catch it on TV?
