Well, first things first Season 7 picks up about 10 days after the tragic death of Jax’s wife, Tara who was murdered by his own mother, Gemma. Jax is in jail on parole violation, and still has not come to grips with the loss of Tara and his sons who are taken from him upon his arrest. Due to his desire for revenge and his need to avenge the love of his life, Jax, with the help of SAMCRO swears “merciless and complete retribution.”

Enter, Sticky. Malcom Jamal Warner told Entertainment Weekly that his role was extended due to a vital scene that expanded from an exchange with only one of the SAMCRO members to involving his character Sticky and the entire Charming gang. The actor also revealed that his character, and the Grim Bastards as a whole, will aide in Jax’s plan for revenge. “They’re definitely a part of it,” Warner said. “If you’re going to be on that show it’s kind of cool that you’re going to be the motorcycle gang that’s like the charter club to Sons. So they definitely have our back and we definitely have their backs.”
