The U.S. President Donald Trump has publicly accused his predecessor Barack Obama many times of committing crimes but without any proof. Now he has falsely accused Obama of committing treason for “spying on his campaign.”

In an interview that aired on Monday, June 22, Trump, once again without any evidence, tried to accuse Obama of committing a crime. He said that the former president has committed treason for spying on his campaign.

"It's treason," he said. "Look, when I came out a long time ago, I said they've been spying on my campaign. I said they've been taping, and that was in quotes, meaning a modern-day version of taping, it's all the same thing. But a modern-day version. But they've been spying on my campaign."

In the U.S. Consitution, "Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort."

There is no evidence that Obama committing any sort of treason that reached up to the definition as per the constitution of the country. Neither there is any record or proof of him spying on Trump’s campaign.

This is not the first time that Obama has been accused of something without any concrete evidence or proof available. It has been claimed several times before that Democratic partisan within the Justice Department and the FBI have made use of their position to undermine Trump and investigate into his campaign.

Some misconduct, however, has been reported before concerning former FBI officials and their misconduct related to the Russian investigation. However, the extent of the misconduct has been widely exaggerated by Trump by making unproven claims and accusations that even people from his administration have not been able to explain.

"I just hope I get tremendous evangelical Christian support," said Trump, after saying that Obama and his people spied on the opposing party's campaign, however, they caught them.

"We're in a different time. You understand what I mean by that,” he further said, claiming that if Obama and people in his administration were found committing this treason 50 to 100 years ago, they would have been executed.
