Two regular Arkansas lottery players started their 2022 on a positive note after winning a $1-million lottery prize each in cash prizes.

The two Arkansas lottery players reportedly claimed their $1-million prizes on Jan. 12 and Jan. 18, respectively. Meanwhile, two more prizes of $1 million remain to be won on the $1,000,000 Riches game, THV11 reported.

Apart from the two $1-million winners, there were several others who got lucky in the first month of 2022. Mark Deavers of Conway won $240,000 in the Natural State Jackpot held on Jan. 17. The winning numbers for the draw were 8, 11, 38, 14, and 3.

Later that week, two people from Little Rock and Clarksville bagged a lottery prize of $10,000 each. Meanwhile, a Dover man also won $50,000, and someone in Jonesboro reportedly won $100,000.

“Arkansans are winning, what more could we ask for?” said Eric Hagler, executive director of the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery.

In a similar but unrelated incident, a Cumberland County woman reportedly won $500,000 after spinning a giant prize wheel at the Bigger $pin Live Event on Wednesday, Jan. 19, WGHP FOX8 reported.

The winner, LaKisa McKethan, a third-shift leader at a filter manufacturing plant, bought her $10 Bigger $pin scratch-off ticket from the VA VA Food Mart on Cumberland Road in Fayetteville while she was on her way home from work.

“I was nervous, but I’m happy,” McKethan said about her win. “It was fun.”

McKethan said she was grateful to win the $500,000 lottery prize. McKethan took home a total amount of $354,994 after required state and federal tax withholdings.

When asked about what she plans to do with the prize money, McKethan said that she intends to buy a house and give back anonymously to people in need of medical treatment.

In another incident, a Michigan lottery winner reportedly bought the $829,392-winning lottery ticket after being inspired by winning $20 on a ticket nine months before, the Kansas City Star reported.

The winner reportedly bought two tickets on April 19, 2021, from Ideal Party Store in Bay City, Michigan, and won $20 on one of those tickets. Nine months later, he recalled the win and decided to buy two more tickets and ended up winning the $829,392 lottery prize.

The man won $829,392 by playing the Doubler Wild Time Progressive Fast Cash jackpot. However, he waited to claim his big win until 2022 “for tax purposes.”

When asked about what he plans to do with the prize money, the winner said that he intends to donate to various charities before saving what is left.
