Never doubt the power of a doppelgänger; umm we are looking at you Damon. Although it seems like Delena is secure for now, there are two doppelgängers hooking up in Season 5 of the "Vampire Diaries." According to a new spoiler report from E! Online there is a new couple in Mystic Falls, and while they didn't immediately reveal the identities they provided some clues that lead us to believe that Katherine and Stefan will be getting hot and heavy.
First, the new couple is both played by series regulars, with Nina Dorbev and Paul Wesley normally playing double duty of "Vampire Diaries" they are certainly considered regulars. The next clue provided about the couple is that they have a past, and it was complicated. Uh, Stefan and Katherine were deeply in love, and then Damon got involved, and then they became vampires for her, then he killed his father, yeah, we would say that is complicated, to say the least.
The last clue provided, was that one of them will provide much-needed help to the other. Stefan is struggling and his wounds are deeply emotional. Stefan is still tormented by the images and memories that his brain continually produced while he was drowning in the safe all summer. The haunting visions are pushing him to feel nearly insane. But in tonight's episode "Dead Man on Campus" it seems that Stefan gets a little help from none other than Katherine. In the official synopsis, "Katherine does a favor for Matt and manages to get through to Stefan, who is still struggling to overcome the events of the summer." So this leads us to believe the steamy and sexy hookup involves Stefan and Katherine! But unfortunately, Katherine and Stefan won't be romping around Mystic Falls just yet.
