'Watch Dogs'
"Watch Dogs 2" will reportedly have a new leading character. Watch Dogs

Looks like Ubisoft will be replacing Aiden Pearce as the main character in the sequel to "Watch Dogs," reports IGN. The news comes from an actor's Instagram account, but unfortunately the post has been hidden.

According to NerdLeaks, actor Cort King uploaded a photo of a glasses and bandana-wearing character with the caption, "Had a blast doing motion capture work as the lead character in a new video game series!" The end of the caption also showcased a few hashtags including #motioncapture, #ps4, #xbox, #comingsoon and #WatchDogs2.

Again since the post has been getting a lot of attention, King has since made his profile private but a cached version of the account page shows the post. Check out the picture below.

While it seems likely that a new main character will be introduced in the forthcoming title, there is another option which includes King joining just as a new main character alongside Aiden. However, it is worth noting that the games creative director, Jonathan Morin, has said Ubisoft will be "taking risks" with the titles sequel.

With all that said, we are still marking the replacement of the first game's protagonist Aiden as a rumor until something is made official.

The sequel to "Watch Dogs" was revealed during Ubisoft’s Q3 earnings report back in February and the studio has the title slated for release by the end of FY17, reports VG247.

The company is set to release its year-end financial report next week on Thursday, May 12, and perhaps we'll hear more about "Watch Dogs 2" during the call to investors. But more than likely we will get more information on the title at E3 2016.

Ubisoft's E3 2016 press conference will be held on Monday, June 13. It starts at 1 p.m. PT/4 p.m. ET/9 p.m U.K. and will, of course, be live streamed.
