Later this week, the Miss World 2014 competition will take place but one contestant will be missing: Miss Honduras World. The 2014 Miss Honduras winner, María José Alvarado Muñoz, has been missing since last Thursday after attending a friend's birthday party in her hometown Santa Bárbara. Also missing is the 19-year-old pageant winner's sister.
"Open your hearts and understand my pain," said the mother of the missing girls, Teresa de Jesus. "There is an all-powerful God that sees everything and I hope you set them free."
Authorities have disclosed that the disappearance of the Alvarado sisters is not being treated as a crime, as the girls were last seen exiting the party by entering a vehicle. That said, four individuals have been arrested, including Miss Honduras' sister's boyfriend.
"Four people are under arrest," said police chief Jose Coello according to MailOnline. "They include the owner of the party venue and Sofia Trinidad's boyfriend. They are being investigated."
María José Alvarado was supposed to travel to London this week to participate in the Miss world competition after she was crowned Miss World Honduras in April 2014.
