Royal family fans might have noticed the name Rose Hanbury popping up lately as various publications have been talking about an alleged feud with Kate Middleton and a rumored affair with Prince William. However, there is very little press coverage about her husband, David Rocksavage, who wisely chose to remain silent amid all the drama.

Rocksavage’s full birth name is David George Philip Cholmondeley, and he was born on June 27, 1960. His father is Hugh Cholmondeley, the 6th Marquess of Cholmondeley, while his mother is Lavinia Margaret Leslie.

He is currently the 7th Marquess of Cholmondeley. He was previously known as Earl of Rocksavage until 1990, but he is still referred to as David Rocksavage in his career as a filmmaker and actor.

He directed the 1995 film “Other Voices, Other Rooms” and the 2009 film “Shadows In The Sun” and was an associate producer for the 2012 “Una Noche.” He appeared in Eric Rohmer's 1987 French film “4 aventures de Reinette et Mirabelle,” playing a minor role.

Lord Cholmondeley certainly has an unquestionable pedigree. After all, he is a descendant of Great Britain’s first Prime Minister, Sir Robert Walpole.

He is also a descendant of the influential and moneyed Rothschild and Sassoon families through Sybil Sassoon, his paternal grandmother. The Rothchild family is an old international banking family rumored to be the wealthiest family in the world. Meanwhile, the Sassoon family is also sometimes called the “Rothschilds of the East” and is also one of the wealthiest families in the world with their international merchant empire.

David Cholmondeley married Rose Hanbury, who is 23 years his junior, in 2009. The couple lives in Houghton Hall described as a Palladian style, which was originally built for Sir Robert Walpole. Their 106-room abode is as palatial as any mansion could get as it comes with dozens of state rooms such as the two-story Stone Hall, tastefully done in marble, stucco and silvery limestone.

In terms of personal wealth, there are talks that Lord Cholmondeley might have a higher net worth than Prince William. The second in line to the throne is estimated to have a personal net worth of around £30 million, while Rocksavage is estimated to be worth £112 million.

Lord Cholmondeley has not made any comment regarding his wife's alleged affair with Prince William. Perhaps he deems it unnecessary to make any issue out of nothing at all and that silence might be the best response.

Prince William and Kate, on the other hand, are already used to being the subject of nasty rumors, so they might relatively be unaffected by it. They're, however, worried for Hanbury, who might not be used to all the drama, and decided to hire the London-based law firm Harbottle and Lewis to handle the cheating rumors.

“And it doesn’t just hurt them, they are very concerned for Rose,” a source told Hollywood Life. “She’s a married woman with children, and she’s not used to this kind of public scrutiny. She’s a friend of not only Kate’s but also the entire family, so this is upsetting for everyone.”
