After the controversy, Angélica Rivera is set to return to telenovelas in an adaptation of "Casablanca." The Televisa production will air in the new year following the finale of "Hasta El Fin Del Mundo." The Michael Curtiz directed romantic drama will be written by the same team of "La Malquerida," which will reunite Rivera and her former husband José Alberto Castro. Casting on the male lead is still underway and will be announced shortly. Rivera's last melodrama was "Destilando Amor" opposite Eduardo Yañez where she portrayed a labor worker called Gaviota. News of her return comes on the heels of a controversy after an ironically dubbed house called "White House."

Angélica Rivera went on camera to explain where her earnings came from to afford that multi-million dollar "white house." The telenovela actress and now First Lady of México seemed extremely upset on the recorded message. At the end she said she would sell her home so it didn't further cause any harm to her family. It seems like she has one less house now and is trying to recuperate her investment. Being that she got paid extremely well at Televisa, it is no surprise that she would return to the studio that gave her loads of money for her work. Perhaps she is going to lose money on her investment and needs to level out? Surely, with this new telenovela she will be able to buy out a couple more properties.
