Shakira To Make Appearance At Billboard Awards 2014

The stars are aligning in Las Vegas to celebrate the 2014 Billboard Music Awards! Many big A-list musicians are gearing up for the massive event where Shakira has just confirmed her appearance. "The Voice" singer will join previously announced performances from "American Idol" judge Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull and Ricky Martin. The gala will air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas this Sunday, May 18 starting at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. Other artists that will take the stage on the explosive night include Katy Perry, Imagine Dragons, Lorde, Carrie Underwood, Iggy Azalea, Miranda Lambert, Jason Derulo, John Legend and Miley Cyrus. Ariana Grande and Iggy Azalea will be on stage together with their hit song "Problem." Grande has been nominated this year as "Top New Artist" following a successful year in music. Her tune with Azalea was downloaded 438,000 on its first weeks, debuting at the top of the Digital Songs Billboard List and No. 3 on the Hot 100 list. Ricky Martin will also be present singing "Adrenalina" that made its debut on the Hot Latin Songs Billboard list at No. 11. Martin has previously won Billboard accolades in the Top New Latin Artist (1993), Hot 100 Singles Artist of The Year and Male Artist of The year in 1999. J.Lo will be honored with the Icon Award and will also perform live on stage with Pitbull. Both artists teamed up for the FIFA World Cup 2014 theme song called "We Are One (Ole Ola)." Lopez will also debut her next single "First Love" off of her new album slated for release this summer.

Jordin Sparks, Kelly Rowland, Kendall Jenner, Kevin O’Leary, Mark Cuban, Pete Wentz and Wiz Khalifa will be presenting awards throughout the night, while Lorde will sing her new single "Tennis Court." Another big duet of the night include country music superstars Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert performing "Somethin' Bad" for the first time on broadcast television. Miley Cyrus has had an explosive year, pushing the limits at awards show and will try to top herself at the Billboard Music Awards. The former Disney Channel star is nominated in 8 categories: Top Artist, Top Female Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Digital Songs Artist, Top Social Artist, Top Streaming Artist, Top Hot 100 Song and Top Streaming Song. Her performance will be a live feed from her concert in Manchester, as part of her Bangerz tour.
