Mexican Journalist, Fernando del Rincón, has left CNN en Español after allegedly being unable to reach an agreement for his contract renewal. Even so, he was working onscreen two days before his last with no indication that he was leaving. Director of VIP Planning Production and Marketing Liason for CNNE, Isabel Bucaram, stated in an email to HuffPost: “CNN en Español and Fernando del Rincón were unable to reach an agreement to renew his contract for which del Rincón will be leaving the network. CNNE thanks him for his years of service and wishes him the best.”

The announcement came only a few hours after Venezuelan President, Nicolás Maduro, denounced a supposed complot against his government involving CNN en Español, Colombian TV network NTN24 and the Nuevo Herald. Del Rincón had in fact demonstrated his commitment towards showing the world what was happening in Venezuela between Maduro’s government and the opposition. He even traveled often to the country and spoke of it on both shows he hosted, "Conclusiones" and "Panorama USA." Wednesday night, del Rincón interviewed Cuban-Venezuelan actress María Conchita Alonso promptly after Maduro announced he had started the process to take her Venezuelan nationality away for her strong criticisms towards his government.

Del Rincón initially came to the US to host a morning show at Telemundo. He then moved on to Telefutura and later on to Univision to host "Primer Impacto," where he was forced to leave abruptly due to domestic violence accusations from his then colleague and now ex wife, Carmen Dominicci. Fernando hosted a few shows on Mega TV before becoming one of the main talents of CNNE.
