Federal Judge, Victorino Hernández Infante, gave the order for authorities at the Altiplano maximum-security prsion to provide medical attention for inmate Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán earlier this month. However, Emma Coronel, the drug lord’s wife, is not content with the actions being taken in order to assure her husband is healthy and sleeping well.

“He keeps saying the same thing, that they won’t let him sleep,” Coronel told Radio Fórmula. She added that even though official check-ins are at 9:00pm, 3:00am, and 5:00 am, Guzmán can’t go to sleep early due to the noise. “He can’t go to sleep at nine because it’s when everyone is watching TV, no one else is sleeping,” the former beauty queen told reporter Ciro Gómez Leyva.

During the rest of her interview on “Ciro Gómez Leyva por la mañana,” Coronel claimed her husband’s condition has worsen and believes that no one is doing anything to prevent it. She also revealed that she is willing to apologize if officials release proof of Guzmán’s health condition and it is satisfactory.

“What victimizing? I’m not interested in any sort of campaign,” she said when she was asked her thoughts on the media implying she is trying to make the Sinaloa Cartel leader look like a victim. “It is true that he is sick, and if anyone can prove that we are lying, I’ll apologize gladly.”

Earlier this month, it was made public that “El Chapo” suffers from high blood pressure and gastritis, and the lack of medical aid could lead to a heart attack or dead in prison. His legal team worked with Judge Hernández, and an agreement was reached. The Federal Government has yet to make any statements on the subject, and has failed to provide recent images of Guzmán in prison.

Recent reports suggest that Guzmán is looking forward to an extradition deal with the American Government. No further details have been revealed.
