Eugenio Derbez and Alessandra Rosaldo have welcome their first baby together. The happy couple met their baby girl Aitana on Monday, August 4 at 11:35pm in a hospital in Santa Monica, California via natural childbirth. According to Hola, Aitana weighed 3.400kg (7.5 lbs.) after 26 hours of labor. When the "Instructions Not Included" star first saw her he said, "She has her chin split like I do." Aitana had an initial due date of July 27 and since then everyone close to the couple were anxiously awaiting her arrival.
Derbez and Rosaldo announced back in January they were expecting their first child together. For Rosaldo it would be her first, while for Derbez Aitana became his fourth. “Indeed, a wanted, dreamed, and deeply loved GIRL is on her way. Thanks for your congratulations and beautiful and kind words,” Alessandra tweeted months ago. Most thought they would name her Silvia, in honor of Eugenio's late mother, but they opted for Aitana. “It’s a name that I’ve liked for a while. Sometime I suggested it to Eugenio about two or three years ago. He took it and it surprised me that he put it in the credits at the end of his movie. Precisely that was the first thought dedicated to Aitana, that in that moment was a dream, but now is a reality,” Alessandra said in an interview.
Alessandra chronicled her pregnancy on the talk show "Netas Divinas." The Sentidos Opuestos singer joined the show to replace Consuelo Duval. "I am the new neta (truth teller), I am happy, nervous and excited," Rosaldo said in a statement. "I am profoundly grateful for this opportunity that I have at Televisa Networks and for the good vibes that I have received." Eugenio continues to work on new projects in Hollywood and is set to begin production on a new film soon.
