Golden Globe winner Gina Rodriguez attends P&G Orgullosa 'Living Fabulosa' event Karina Robledo

An article posted on entertainment website Deadline yesterday, suggested that TV has somehow become too diverse, “There was a noticeable shift toward minority castings last season, with more parts opening up to ethnic actors.” The writer also called the recent diversification of TV “the trend of ethnic casting” causing outrage and a media frenzy, in which executive producer Shonda Rhimes took part. Rhimes blasted the article on Twitter saying, “1st Reaction:: HELL NO. Lemme take off my earrings, somebody hold my purse! 2nd Reaction: Article is so ignorant I can't even be bothered.”

Later last night, Gina Rodriguez attended en event for P&G’s Orgullosa platform, which launched Nuevas Latinas Living Fabulosa looking to feature Latina trendsetters and their stories of confidence, strength and success. When the “Jane The Virgin” star spoke to Refinery 29 about the article, she said, “I'd love to believe that we're misreading the tone of that article. I don't think there's anybody that reads that and agrees that anything's being taken away from anyone.” The Golden Globe winner remained with a positive outlook on the matter, “I love to give people the benefit of the doubt. Nobody wants negative in their life,” she concluded... One more reason to love Gina Rodriguez!
