Speculators say "GTA 5" 1.17 update could be the Heists DLC as Rockstar Games conducted a server maintenance on Sept. 19. Rockstar Games

Ladies and gents, we are only a month away from the highly anticipated next-generation "GTA 5" title release for PS4 and Xbox One. As many diehard "GTA 5" fans will know, the arrival of the PS4 and Xbox One titles also marks the highly anticipated release of the special "GTA 5" Heists update. However, we've noticed some troubling signs as we approach the month of November.

The longstanding belief held by most "GTA 5" gamers is that the Heists DLC release will coincide with the arrival of the next-generation "GTA 5" title for PS4 and Xbox One. Now, it looks like we won't see the new Heists DLC until after "GTA 5" is already out for the next-gen consoles.

According to "GTA 5" tipster DomisLive, the discrepancy comes down to timing. First of all, the upcoming "GTA 5" 1.18 update is expected to most likely arrive in late October, just in time to observe Halloween on Oct. 31. Given that "GTA 5" for PS4 and Xbox One is on Nov. 18, that only leaves Rockstar a two-week opening to launch Heists right after the rumored Halloween DLC.

Secondly, while the release of "GTA 5" for PS4 and Xbox One is important to a lot of gamers, other heavyweights are seizing the upcoming Christmas holiday season to release some big games as well. First, Activision's "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" will drop on Nov. 4, 2014. Next, Ubisoft's "Assassin's Creed: Unity" release date is Nov. 11, 2014. What's more, Ubisoft will also double down with "Far Cry 4" on Nov. 18, the same date as "GTA 5." This amount of competition will not be ideal for Rockster's plans to advertise the biggest and baddest GTA Online DLC to date.

So when should we expect the "GTA 5" Heists DLC then? Late November. Probably.
