Rumors of "Hoy" ending its run in México and subsequently in the U.S. on Univision are more rampant than ever. According to "Formula Espectacular" the morning show co-hosted by Andrea Legarreta, Galilea Montijo and Raúl Araiza could be saying farewell in December, after an almost 20-year run that started in 1998. Producer Reynaldo López is reportedly planning the end of the show if Televisa executives dicide to cancel it. Rubio mentioned that "Despierta" with Carlos Loret de Mola could extend its duration on-air to cover the loss of "Hoy". She also said that Araiza wants to focus on his acting, while Montijo has been eyeing a move to Univision's "Despierta América," which is produced in the U.S. If the rumors turn out to be true it would surely be the end of an era.

"Hoy" has not been short of controversies over the years. Andrea Legarreta, who has been part of the show since the beginning and most of its run, does not get on with Alfredo Adame. When the show suffered a change in production, he was asked that if he was producer who would he hire as on-air talent. That's when things kicked off and Adame went after Legarreta saying: "No, I wouldn’t count her in. I have no relationship with her, she is not my friend, she is not my colleague, she is nothing. We are absolutely nothing, and I wouldn’t count her in for anything.”

Legarreta was then reached for comment and reacted to Alfredo Adame's words. “Truth is I care for him, I’m trying to remember if we ever had an argument, but I can only recall good times, hours we spent rehearsing, good vibes, and he was my car Godfather when we [her and husband Erik Rubín] got married, I remember all good things. I know sometimes there are differences, and they were brought up during a sketch once, but he didn’t mean wrong.” Andrea kept a professional attitude during her statement and continued by saying, “I care for him and respect his family, I don’t get involved in situations where there are no real motives. If he wants to run for producer, and he doesn’t want to count me in if he had the chance to produce, I respect that.”

"Hoy" is mainly a magazine that focuses on entertainment news and games within the on-air talent. At one point Andrea Legarreta and Raúl Araiza scored an interview with Mexico's president Enrique Peña Nieto, which was horrible for public relations as both hosts were mocked endlessly on social networks. Most of the controversy of the lengthy interview seemed to be the lack of seriousness by the interviewers. Mexicans were feeling underestimated as the President goes on what appears to be a staged interview from the network which employed his wife, Angelica Rivera. Adding to the lack of formality, the interviewers sound like they’re acting a scene from a Telenovela with too many bloopers in the horizon. Raul Araiza seems to be on the verge of hysterical laughter every time he speaks and Andrea Legarreta reacts in the cheesiest ways to the President’s learned-by-heart answers. “That sounds good, that sounds nice, it’s very motivating, really, and it’s moving to listen to you,” she said.
