Spoilers ahead!!! On Wednesday’s “Law & Order: SVU” season finale, “Surrender Noah,” which was no less than tragic. The team lost one of their own when a shooting broke lose at sex trafficker Johnny D.’s trial. In an attempt to stop the shooter, Amaro (Danny Pino) went after the shooter only to get hit in the liver and knee. But don’t worry, Danny Pino fans, Amaro didn’t die like that. In fact he made it out of surgery all right, just in time to attend Olivia’s (Mariska Hargitay) party to celebrate the adoption of Noah.

At the celebration, Pino’s character announced he was movingto be close to his daughter and son, since he knew he wasn’t going to get a promotion to sergeant, mostly because he shot an unarmed teen (in one of last season’s episodes). Amaro told Olivia he knew he wasn’t what her last partner (Stabler, played by Christopher Meloni) was for her, to what she responded it was “an old relationship that didn’t allow for anything.” She went on to explain that with him, she had a family and was able to grow.

Pino joined the show in season 13 in 2011, following Stabler’s departure and it has yet to be confirmed if a new character will come in to fill the position. Both, Pino and Hargitay posted heartfelt goodbyes on their Twitter feeds.
