Javier Hernández’s future at Manchester United has been a hot topic of discussion in recent time due to the player’s public desire to earn more playing time with Old Trafford’s First XI. A premier scorer with the Mexican National team, Chicharito remains a fan favorite in England despite his secondary role with the defending Barclays Premier League champions. Electing to remain with Manchester United through the recent January transfer window, the 25-year-old opted to not explore outside opportunities despite agent Eduardo Hernández linking his star client to multiple teams across the globe.

The Mexican striker joined Manchester United in 2010 after four successful seasons with Liga MX affiliate Guadalajara. Notching 26 Mexican league goals in 64 contests for Los Rojiblancos, the Guadalajara native was signed to Man U for an undisclosed fee and was expected to fit in nicely. Unable to crack into the starting rotation on a regular basis however, Chicharito was reportedly seeking an exit from the English giants, with teams from Germany, France, Spain, England and Italy showing significant levels of interest.

“I had meetings with a few clubs, I won't name them, nor their offers, they are very interested in him,” Eduardo Hernández told ESPN Deportes last month after Chicharito elected to stay put. “One of the top 10 teams in the world are among those teams that were very interested in signing Javier. There was a club from Germany, one from France, and two from Spain and Italy each that want to have him. However, he is under contract with Man United and he somehow has to respect it in case there is an agreement between the parties.

“I can’t say for sure what the future holds,” he continued. “Football is dynamic and his current situation could change tomorrow, so there are clubs that are interested, that like him a lot and trust him to succeed. He has achieved a high value in Europe's market and I can't say that there won't be anything concrete after the next six months. However, we do hope he gets minutes.”

Though he remains with United for the remainder of the 2013-2014 campaign, Hernández took to his Instagram page recently and posted a message that has many wondering if he will in fact leave Man U this summer. Shortly after United’s recent 2-2 draw with BPL rival Fulham, Hernández wrote: “The time to speak about so many things will come…”

Whether or not Chicharito departs Old Trafford remains to be seen but with this recent posting and inconsistent time on the pitch, the Mexican National star could soon find a new home with plenty of suitors interested in his services.
