Salma Hayek keeps sharing her thoughts about equality in the industry, and emphasizing on the sexism that exists in Hollywood.

In an event by Variety that took place at the Cannes Festival, Hayek talked of the salary differences between actors and actresses in the film industry. "The only kind of movie where women make more money than men is in the porn industry," Hayek said, stating that it's "simply ignorance," reports People en Español.

"For a long time, they thought that the only thing we were interested in were romantic comedies," she said at the event. “Hollywood doesn’t see us as a powerful economic force, which is an incredible ignorance."

At Cannes Festival, the Mexican actress formed part of the Women in Motion Talks, which is focused on a discussion about women in film. The panel is led by and with some of the top women in the industry.
