The Mexican beauty turns 49 today and she is celebrating with yet another magazine cover, this time on Latina magazine for its October issue, where she looks absolutely stunning! It’s very clear that, while Salma Hayek has said Hollywood studios aren’t approaching her so much these days, she is totally carefree, since she has two movies coming out this fall, “The Prophet” and “Septembers of Siraz,” a beauty line, a production company and a beautiful family. Hayek had lots of fun singing and dancing at her cover shoot in Los Angeles, and spoke a lot about being a Latina and growing up in Mexico.

When asked about her feelings on being labeled as a Latina, Hayek explained it’s not because she’s not proud of who she is, but it’s just not all of what she is. “I am Latina. I am Mexican. I am proud of those things. I am American. I care for the United States. I care for Mexico, but I also care for the rest of the world. And I think that makes me a better person,” the actress explained.

Hayek also said this is also because her father was very strict growing up, about always being treating everyone the same. “We're not racist. We're not classist,” she insisted. Also, as for the secret to her strong marriage with Francois-Henri Pinault, she says being strong and independent helps a lot: “I still have my independence. But he likes it. I have my problems, and I don't have to dump them on him. I take care of them on my own,” Hayek said.
