Fourteen people were killed and twenty-one were injured at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California on Wednesday. Authorities continue to investigate the shooting as an “act of terrorism,” Federal Bureau of Investigation assistant director David Bowdich said at a news conference on Friday.

According to recent reports, suspect Tashfeen Malik, 27, pledged her support for the Islamic State on social media previous to the happenings, which is now pointing to a possible ideological motive behind the attack. Malik’s husband, Syed Ruzwan Farook, the second shooter, was an environmental health specialist with the San Bernardino County health department, which was hosting the holiday party at the center when the shooting took place.

As the investigation continues, the San Bernardino County Coroner’s office released the names of the victims, twelve identified as Farook’s co-workers, on Thursday afternoon. Amongst them: Yvette Velasco, 27, who according to her family was “intelligent, motivated and beautiful. She was a daughter and a sister,” and Juan Espinoza, 50, who according to his daughter “was a really hard worker and very fair. He was just very honest.”

The San Bernardino victims leave behind loved ones and many heartbreaking stories that we don’t wish upon anyone. May they rest in peace.
