Earlier this year it was reported that Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming western film would be called “The Hateful Eight.” But the world may not see this film any time soon since the script has leaked online. Deadline reports that Tarantino has decided to cancel his recently announced next movie since it is leaked online. “I’m very, very depressed,” the director said. “I finished a script, a first draft, and I didn't mean to shoot it until next winter, a year from now. I gave it to six people, and apparently it’s gotten out today.”

The project was one he was already eyeing Bruce Dern for and was in the process of assembling a cast. But after giving the script to six people—including producer Reggie Hudlin, Bruce Dern, Tim Roth and Michael Madsen one of them let the script leak. Tarantino said he isn’t upset its out there on the net, it’s mainly about the betrayal. “I am not talking out of both sides of my mouth," Tarantino explained, "because I do like the fact that everyone eventually posts it, gets it and reviews it on the net. Frankly, I wouldn't want it any other way. I like the fact that people like my sh*t, and that they go out of their way to find it and read it. But I gave it to six motherf**king people!”

As for the future of “The Hateful Eight” Tarantino has said as of now there is not a future for the script and assures fans that there will be something from him coming up, just not this film. ”I’m going to publish it, and that’s it for now," he says. "I give it out to six people and if I can’t trust them to that degree, then I have no desire to make it. I’ll publish it. I’m done. I’ll move on to the next thing. I’ve got ten more where that came from.”

When asked if the film would ever come to fruition, Tarantino responded, “I could totally change my mind, I own the f**king thing. But I can tell you, it’s not going to be the next thing I do. It’s my baby, and if the muse calls me later to do it, we’ll do it. I was thinking about the idea of maybe publishing it before I made it, but now that deal happens for sure, and I’m not doing it next.”
