Why Prince Charles, Princess Diana Didn’t Have ‘Sexual Relationship’ Before Royal Wedding

Prince Charles and Princess Diana tied the knot in 1981 after just a few months of dating. More specifically, the couple has only hung out 17 times before they walked down the aisle.

As such, royal fans couldn’t help but wonder if the Prince and Princess of Wales ever engaged in sexual activity during their dates. On the online forum site Quora, the majority of the royal fans are convinced that this wasn’t the case.

Prince Charles wasn’t necessarily in love with Princess Diana but he was forced into marrying her because she had the qualities of a perfect bride. The Princess of Wales didn’t have a boyfriend before dating Prince Charles, and she was also a virgin.

Before their royal wedding, a doctor reportedly checked if the Princess of Wales could carry her own children. She was able to get pregnant twice with her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.

Royal fan Daise Kendrick said that Prince Charles married Princess Diana because she was a virgin. This means that it was important for the royal couple to make sure that the late royal was a virgin until the day that they tied the knot.

“Diana herself in an interview stated she always knew she would have a different life to the one her friends were to have - that she was destined for something special and as such, knew she had to keep herself ‘tidy,” she said. “I am pretty sure she was a virgin until her wedding night - women of good breeding knew the importance of being kept pure and untainted,” she added.

Royal fan Catherine Durnford-Wang said that it is unlikely that Prince Charles and Princess Diana were intimate before their wedding because it was important for the heir to the throne to marry a young, innocent, and virginal girl who didn’t have any previous relationships. It became evident that Princess Diana was that girl.

“Their courtship was very short and in reality, they only saw each other a handful of times,” Catherine said. “There probably was no opportunity to be ‘intimate’. There was always someone around and I don’t think Prince Charles was the romantically interested in her as he was still besotted with Camilla,” she added.
