The 2014 Formula 1 Malaysian Grand Prix is Sunday, March 30, at 3:30 am EST. The teams will have one final free practice on Saturday before putting everything on the line this weekend. The third free practice and qualifying begins Saturday, March 29 at 4:00 a.m. EST.
Mercedes managed to stay at the top during practice once again as the team's German driver Nico Rosberg managed to be the fastest during Friday's Free Practice 2 with a time of 1:39.909s. Teammate Lewis Hamilton managed to lap just a litle over a tenth of a second behind Rosberg, clocking in at 1:40.051s. However, this fraction of a gap was all it took for Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen and Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel to disrupt Team Mercedes' 1-2 practice finish.
No doubt, Saturday qualifying at Malaysia's Sepang International Circuit will be exciting to watch as Red Bull demonstrates legitimate pace while Mercedes no longer looks invulnerable going into the weekend. Here are the top 10 results of Free Practice 2 ahead of Saturday qualifying:
