Apple is speculated to be coming out with another iPhone SE in 2024 although it appears some things remain unsettled.

At the top of the list is the size of the display as well as the materials that the next Apple device will come out with according to display analyst Ross Young.

Young mentioned this on Twitter, a development that was unsurprisingly shared over social media when it was put up.

Regardless, it appears that Apple remains undecided on whether to use a 6.1-inch OLED display or 5.7 to 6.1-inch LCDs from suppliers. Hence like in previous iPhones, the big question is will the 2024 iPhone SE come out with an OLED or LCD.

There are several things to consider, a reason why the Cupertino company has yet to decide. At the top of the list is the cost of the iPhone SE should it come out with an OLED display.

At the moment, the present-day iPhone SE sports an LCD with thick bezels and a Touch ID Home button. Most of Apple’s flagship iPhones come equipped with OLED displays, something that has been done since the iPhone 12 came out.

Unless OLED displays have gotten a huge price cut, seeing the next and supposed budget-friendly iPhone SE with it does not look promising.

Some hope remains afloat, assuming that the price of OLED displays somehow goes down in the next two years. If not, Apple will likely stick to the LCD that the current version sports.

However, this does not exclude changes to the design. Even if the 2024 iPhone SE comes with an LCD, it is expected to feature an all-display design with a notch.

Finally, all other features of the 2024 iPhone SE remain unknown. That includes questions on whether Apple would introduce the Face ID or retain the Touch ID currently in use, Mac Rumors suggested.
