A 25-year-old man who had a grudge against her mother reportedly exacted revenge when he poured boiling water with sugar on her after initially launching an assault.

The man was identified as Kieran Gillian who allegedly assaulted his mother which resulted in the woman suffering face, neck, ear and chest burns.

It turns out that Kieran held a childhood grudge against the woman after ending up in her care at the age of eight.

The 25-year-old was able to restore a relationship with his dad after that, eventually moving in with him. However, things took a different turn when the mother came to live with them.

Tensions reached a breaking point on Nov. 24 with Kieran claiming that he felt a rush of anger against his mother. He ended up going to the bedroom and punching the mom several times in the face which resulted in black eyes, a bleeding lip, and a mark on her nose, the Chronicle Live reported.

Later that same day, the 25-year-old filled a jug with water and sugar. He also wore waterproof clothing at the time and went back into the room to pour the boiling mixture over the woman.

"You scarred me and I'm going to scar you," Kieran allegedly told her mom at the time.

After the incident, the mother opted to hide rather than seek medical help. It was only when seven officers came to arrest Gillian on a different occasion did she only come out.

"He has always blamed me for going into care at eight years old and blamed me more than his dad. We reconnected when he was 18 and we were ok but he often commented about his time in care and how bad it was for him and blamed me," the unnamed mother said.

It was also found that Gillian had previous convictions for assaulting former partners and also pleaded guilty to GBH with intent and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He was jailed for four years and eight months, with an extended license period of a further two years and four months.
