Remember late chef and renowned TV personality, Anthony Bourdain’s highly popular travel and food series, “Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown,” that used to air on CNN, till his sad demise in 2018? Well, Netflix is all set to bring the wonder back. As per a recent announcement, all 12 seasons of the Emmy-winning magical show will be available to the streaming platform’s subscribers from June 1.

While many such travel and food shows are available, what made late legend Anthony Bourdain’s series so captivating was his practical and realistic approach to the world of knowledge when it comes to food across the globe. He gave his viewers a unique peek into the land of cuisine, cultures and rituals out there which appear to be different but are connected to each other somehow.

It was because of him that the series went on to claim 12 Primetime Emmy Awards and 31 nominations, plus a Peabody Award in 2013, as Bourdain continued to explore the food culture across nations and traditions. He put lesser-known food hotspots in nations like Myanmar, Morocco, Bhutan and Mexico on the map throughout his 104 episodes, setting an example for upcoming explorers like him as he visited street food markets, meet with the locals, and interviewed many fellow chefs to know more about their country’s cuisine.

“Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown” ran for 12 seasons from 2013 to 2018. In 2018, when the crew of the series was filming in Strasbourg, France, Bourdain ended his life by committing suicide.

"His love of great adventure, new friends, fine food and drink and the remarkable stories of the world made him a unique storyteller. His talents never ceased to amaze us and we will miss him very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with his daughter and family at this incredibly difficult time,” CNN had shared at the time of his tragic passing.

The 12th season, and sadly the last installment of the famous series, saw Bourdain return to his hometown of New York in the finale episode “Lower East Side.”

CNN released the last season of his travelogue in the autumn of 2018.
