A COVID-19 survivor shared her story to urge vaccine skeptics to take the shot. Lisa Brandon claims that being vaccinated saved her life, while both of her unvaccinated sons died due to COVID-19 complications.

The 41-year-old Free Jaggi and 35-year-old Aaron Jaggi died within 12 hours of each other after spending around 12 days in a hospital since being infected. Friends and family mourn their loss as their mother warns others against not taking the vaccine.

There has been widespread speculation regarding the COVID-19 vaccines. Unsubstantiated claims and conspiracy theories have prevented many from getting the lifesaving jab. Ongoing studies have shown that vaccines help reduce the severity of the infection. Even if vaccinated people are infected, their condition is less likely to worsen.

Proving the effectiveness of the vaccine, Brandon survived after her family contracted the virus. The residents of Southside Jacksonville, Florida tested positive in late July. As the condition of the siblings worsened, they had to be admitted to a hospital. They had double pneumonia, the Daily Mail reported.

The siblings stayed in the hospital for 12 days. Both brothers were admitted to the intensive care unit as their condition was critical. They required the assistance of a ventilator to breathe. Free was in a worse condition as he had to be put in an induced coma in his last few days.

On Aug. 12 Free passed away from COVID-19 related complications. Within 12 hours, on Aug. 13 Aaron too succumbed to the viral infection, News 4 Jax reported.

Brandon, however, recovered from the viral infection without any complications. Recounting the ordeal that shattered the family, she said that she had urged her sons to get vaccinated. The elderly woman had taken the Moderna vaccine. Aaron and Free adamantly steered clear of the vaccines.

The mourning mother believes that if her sons had been vaccinated, they would have recovered like her. She credits the vaccine for her safe recovery and urges others to get vaccinated.

Losing Free and Aaron left Brandon childless. She had already lost her son David five years ago. The two sons took care of the mother by splitting the bills. She now only relies on Social Security for sustenance. She has to move out of the home she shared with her sons as she cannot afford to pay the rent that they used to split.

Brandon’s friend, Brittany Pequignot, set up a GoFundMe to help the woman pay for her son’s funerals.
